1. Payment Terms
- Deposit: A deposit will be required, proportional to the total order value, via bank transfer. Upon receipt of the deposit, we will order the necessary materials and reserve an agreed-upon fitting date.
- Final Payment: The remaining balance must be paid in full within 24 hours of receiving the final invoice, following the completion of the installation. Payment can be made either via bank transfer or in cash. If payment is not received within the 24-hour period, we reserve the right to charge a late fee and suspend any future services until payment is settled.
- Fitting-Only Jobs: This payment structure applies to fitting-only jobs where materials are not supplied by us.
- Non-Present Customers: If you are unable to be present at the property on the pre-arranged fitting date, you are still required to settle the remaining balance via bank transfer within 24 hours of receiving the final invoice.
2. Preparation for Fitting
- Customer Responsibility: It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that rooms scheduled for new floor coverings are completely clear of personal belongings, furniture, electrical items, wires, and any old floor coverings. This preparation is required for a smooth fitting process unless otherwise agreed for us to uplift and dispose of old floor coverings or move larger furniture items.
- Larger Furniture: If we have agreed to move larger furniture, it is still the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the items are empty and clear of any personal belongings.
- Pre-Arranged Disposal: If we are tasked with removing old flooring or moving furniture, the areas should still be cleared of all personal items to facilitate a safe and efficient installation process.
3. Cleanliness and Working Conditions
- Health and Hygiene: We reserve the right to refuse to uplift and dispose of old flooring if the area is deemed excessively unhygienic by the fitter. This will be addressed during the initial survey to ensure mutual understanding.
- Specific Areas (Kitchens and Bathrooms): It is required that kitchens and bathrooms are thoroughly cleaned, including disinfecting areas around toilets and other fixtures, before the fitter arrives. Toilets must be fully cleaned and free from any residue or unsanitary conditions.
- Professional Cleaning Option: In extreme circumstances where the cleanliness of the property is not up to standard, we can arrange for a professional cleaner to attend prior to our installation. Please note that this service will incur an additional cost, which will be communicated to you beforehand.
- Failure to Meet Cleanliness Standards: If the cleanliness standards are not met, the fitter may refuse to carry out the installation. In such cases, you may incur a charge for a wasted trip due to non-compliance with the terms that ensure a safe and hygienic working environment.
4. Additional Works
- Initial Survey: During the initial survey, a thorough assessment will be conducted to evaluate the work required for a successful installation. However, unless the property is empty of belongings and the subfloor is fully exposed, additional issues may arise during installation.
- Unexpected Findings: If additional work is needed during the fitting, the fitter will inform you immediately and provide a recommendation along with any additional costs. We will ensure that all potential issues are highlighted during the initial survey, so there are no surprises.
- Customer Choice: If you opt not to proceed with the additional work, any substandard finishes caused by this decision will not be the responsibility of LJ Carpets Ltd.
5. Queries or Concerns with the Finished Product or Service
- Feedback: If you are dissatisfied or have concerns regarding the final result of the installation, please contact us as soon as possible.
- Resolution Process: We aim to inspect and address any issues within seven working days from the date of your initial contact. We will do our best to resolve any concerns promptly and to your satisfaction.
